Primary Elements: Stainless Steel 630 are alloys primarily comprised of 17 percent Chromium, 4 percent Nickel, 4 percent Copper, with the balance being Iron, along with trace amounts of Manganese, Phosphorus, Sulfur, Silicon, Columbium and Tantalum.

Features: Stainless Steel 630 is classified as a precipitation hardened steel. Stainless Steel 17-4 ph can be forged, welded and formed. Machining is performed in the solution-annealed state, followed by precipitation hardening. While the hardening occurs over a range of temperatures, ductility and strength can be adjusted to achieve a range of mechanical properties.

316L VM Stainless Steel, often referred to as surgical grade stainless steel or implant grade stainless steel, is our most commonly sold medical stainless steel. Breaking down the name, this is a low-carbon version of 316 that has been either electro slag remelted or vacuum arc remelted to reduce impurities.

This process removes impurities and helps to form a more effective chromium oxide layer on the surface of the material than ordinary stainless steel. This layer helps hold nickel inside the bar, preventing it from triggering an allergic reaction. This protective surface also increases the length of time an implant can remain in the body without leeching into the surrounding tissues.

15-5 stainless steel is a precipitation-hardening, corrosion resistant, martensitic steel that shows good mechanical properties at temperatures up to 600° F. 15-5 is capable of high hardness and strength after a simple heat treat. 15-5PH has high strength and good toughness in all directions as a base stainless steel and in welding applications.

15-5 stainless steel can be heat treated at low temperatures for a short time to minimize scaling and distortion. 15-5 when vacuum arc remelted improves cleanliness. 15-5ph is martensitic and magnetic in both PH (precipitation hardened) and solution treated conditions.

When 15-5 is precipitation hardened in a single low temp range from 900° - 1150° scaling and distortion are practically eliminated. That enables 15-5ph to be machine finished to close tolerances before heat treatment.

P-20 STEEL is a pre hardened high tensile tool steel which offers ready machineability in the hardened and tempered condition, therefore does not require further heat treatment . This eliminates the risks, cost, and waiting time of heat treatment thus avoiding the associated possibility of distortion or even cracking. Subsequent component modifications can easily be carried out.

Sizes : P-20 is available from stock in round bar, flat bar and plate.

Applications : Plastic moulds, mould frames for plastic moulds and pressure casting dies, recipient sleeves.

Alloy 36 is a low expansion nickel-iron alloy that contains 36% Nickel. Alloy/ Invar 36 has a thermal rate of expansion approx 1/10 of Carbon Steel at temps above 400 F. Invar 36 is used in electronic and radio devices where one must keep dimensional changes to a minimum.

Alloy/ Invar 36 is available in round bar, sheet, plate and strip. Invar 36 can be machined under similar processes to austenitic stainless steels.
