Titanium EFW Pipe produces a very thin, conductive oxide surface film when exposed to air and surface oxygen. Since titanium pipe is half the weight of steel, it can be almost as solid (as steel) while being half the weight. This thin film that forms on the Titanium pipe is known as a passivated oxide coating, and it covers the ASTM B337 Titanium seamless pipe. Titanium Seamless Pipe is distinguished by a high strength-to-weight ratio. In an oxygen-free area, it is very ductile and has a low density.
